ABOUT

Welcome to Diya Accounting & Tax Services!

Kanchan was born and raised in a small city in North India and came to Canada 26 years ago. After arriving in Canada, she worked in two of her family-owned businesses: a dollar store and a coffee shop. She has experienced life as a small business owner and is fully aware of the challenges they face daily. Because of this experience, she can truly relate to her clients.

Over the last 20 years, Kanchan has been working in the field of accounting. As a result, she has a breadth of experience in all areas of accounting, payroll, personal, self-employed and corporation tax returns. Since starting her business eight years ago, Kanchan has helped clients with cleaning and maintaining their books, as well as preparing and e-filing tax returns in a wide range of tax situations.

Kanchan holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). She is a Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) from the Certified Professional Bookkeepers of Canada, as well as a certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) from the Canadian Payroll Association. Also, she is a certified QuickBooks Online Advanced Proadvisor.

As a firm believer in giving back to the community, Kanchan served as a board member at the Kanata Food Cupboard for four years and a volunteer bookkeeper for one year.

Kanchan loves to learn and grow, both professionally and personally. She nurtures her desire to learn by reading books related to personal development. Her favourite books are "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne, "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle, "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, and "The E-Myth Revisited" by Michael E. Gerber.

Finally, she loves quotes as they are a source of hope and strength. Some of her favourites are included below, in hopes that they can brighten your day:
